My name is Kevin Gamble and I am Take The Leap Photography. I’m also the dude with the audacity to call himself an “Awesomologist”.

Why should I hire you for photography?

I can tell you this: I am not your sit-on-the-sidelines kind of photographer. I am interactive with all of my clients – kids, parents, bride, groom, newborns – to try and get the best possible photos out of them. I will try and make you laugh, because I believe it puts people at ease. When people are at ease, they are themselves, and the result is better photos. I will also get out of the way when I have to and just let you be you. Have a look through my portfolio, you’ll see what I mean.

I am also very client-centric: I do not believe that you should pay an extra $20, $30 or $50 for a DVD or digital download of high-resolution photos. All of my rates include all of your high-resolution photos, so you can do what you want with them. No gimmicks, no nonsense. Just common sense.

Why call your company “Take The Leap”?

When I first started my company in 2006, I needed a name; a unique name to stand out from the crowd. The name originally comes a quote that inspired me, namely, this one:

“When in doubt, make a fool of yourself. There is a microscopically thin line between being brilliantly creative and acting like the most gigantic idiot on earth. So what the hell, leap.” – Cynthia Heimel, “Lower Manhattan Survival Tactics”, The Village Voice

Do you seriously call yourself an “Awesomologist”?

Sure do. What is an “Awesomologist”, you ask? It’s someone who has a degree in the study of being awesome. True story.

I’m betting you’re thinking one of two things after reading that: 1) this dude is hilarious or 2) this dude is hilarious and a tad self-centered. It’s a little bit of both. The “Awesomologist” tag came a couple of years ago, when I needed to stand out on a pile of resumes. That was the way I got myself to stand out. Although it is definitely self-centered, it seemed to have worked out well for me, so I stuck with it.

What the crap? You didn’t answer my question at all!

Sorry about that. If you have any questions about my photography or web design, or hiring me for either, drop me a line through the contact page.
